Animal Control

Tazewell County Animal Control strives to provide most municipalities within Tazewell County with animal control needs. Routine daily services from 8a-4p include animals running at large (cats must be confined), sick/injured animals, welfare checks, wildlife removal (from a living space, excluding attics/basements), and rabies/bite concerns. Emergency services from 4p-8a include bite investigations where the aggressive animal is currently loose, sick/injured animals, and wildlife removal from a living space. After hours Animal Control Officers can be reached by calling your local police department.

Animals that are strays are held for five to seven business days. At the end of the hold, they are evaluated and then put up for adoption or transferred to a rescue shelter. We are a licensed euthanasia agency and an open admission shelter. We do not turn away any animal.

Adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchipping, basic vaccines and 30 days of pet health insurance.

Dogs- $80.00
Cats- $60.00
