Internships

Tazewell County Probation and Court Services is offering internships to students in their senior year of a Baccalaureate program from an accredited college or university.

  • You will have the opportunity to:
  • apply your academic experience to a real life setting;
  • observe the many facets of the Criminal Justice system;
  • observe different casework delivery styles; observe different management styles;
  • develop new skills.

Intern experiences in Probation may include: conducting interviews; gathering social and criminal histories; designing case plans; matching resources with offender’s needs; writing progress and court reports; crisis management; and participating in cognitive – behavioral intervention groups.

Our Department feels a strong responsibility to contribute to the training and development of future professionals through a quality internship education program. Supervision is provided by experienced, professional staff who are committed to their work and the education of future social service professionals.
